Peaceful Hugs: Family Support Nonprofit Website Design

Peaceful Hugs is a Christian nonprofit providing compassionate, nonjudgmental support and wraparound services for young people and families in crisis, especially when their needs fall outside traditional assistance programs. It was meaningful to work with founder Mark Zahringer, whose Detroit roots and experiences with adversity shaped a mission centered on dignity, hope, and second chances.

The Goal

The website needed to serve several audiences with clarity. People seeking help needed reassurance and a simple path forward. Donors needed to understand their impact. Community organizations and corporate partners needed a picture of the mission and opportunities to get involved.

Our Approach

We organized the homepage around Peaceful Hugs’ central promise: when no one else can help, the organization works to find a path forward. The content explains situations that can fall through the cracks, then walks visitors through a simple three step support process.

Clear navigation separates services, events, the Peaceful Hugs podcast, the organization’s story, and contact information. Prominent Get Help and Donate calls to action guide visitors based on why they came. The services page explains support ranging from food and housing to transportation, employment, and essential documents. Donation examples show what different gift amounts can provide, while Mark’s story brings a voice to the mission.

Calm blue tones, hopeful yellow accents, warm photography, and nature inspired imagery create an experience that feels welcoming rather than institutional. Strong contrast and clear sections make important information easier to absorb.

The Result

The new website gives Peaceful Hugs a compassionate, organized home for its mission. Families can quickly understand how to request help, donors can see the value of giving, and potential partners can explore ways to contribute. It is a clearer platform for outreach, fundraising, events, and growth.
