By The Books: Bookkeeping Website Design

By The Books helps small business owners in Lynchburg, Chatham, and Central Virginia get a handle on their bookkeeping. Founder Tiffany Davis brings accounting experience and a passion for helping people build their businesses. For the company’s first website, we wanted to give that personal approach a home online, with a design that felt as welcoming as the message.

Starting From Scratch

With no existing website, the goal was to create a place where prospective clients could meet Tiffany, explore her services, and understand what it would be like to work with her. The site needed to communicate her expertise while making business owners feel comfortable asking for help, even if their books were a little messy.

Our Approach

We created a warm, uncluttered design that gives visitors room to take things in. Photos of Tiffany put a face to the business, while conversational copy makes the experience feel personal. Clear sections guide visitors from the challenges they’re facing to the support available. Together, the design and messaging present bookkeeping as something that can bring relief and clarity.

We organized the homepage around three familiar needs: starting a business, creating bookkeeping systems, and getting full service support. A dedicated Services page explains the options in more detail, helping visitors recognize where they fit. The homepage also outlines a simple process for getting started and includes client testimonials to support trust. Prominent “Let’s Talk” buttons give prospective clients a clear next step, while existing clients have their own links in the navigation.

The Result

By The Books now has a professional online presence that reflects both Tiffany’s experience and her approachable personality. Visitors can understand the services, get to know the person behind them, and see how to begin. It’s a practical foundation for new client conversations, built around Tiffany’s enthusiasm for helping other business owners succeed.
